Computech IT Services Ltd
Computech IT is spearheading one of the biggest celebrations of business in the region.
The software development company, based in Saltash, has been named headline sponsor for this year’s Western Morning News Business Awards.
With an expanding worldwide customer base, including the Environment Agency, banks, police forces, leading retailers and government departments, Computech IT is used to putting business first.
Bill Martin, editor of the Western Morning News, said: “We are pleased to welcome Computech IT as headline supporter for our prestigious awards. It is great to see a local business, which is making such an impact on the global stage, going on to help celebrate the achievements of fellow enterprises in the region.”
Computech has dedicated many years to developing its flagship product, BusinessMan Enterprise, a comprehensive business management software suite. It has achieved phenomenal success, particularly in the US market.
The software development house joined an elite group of companies in 2017 when it won the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in recognition of businesses which have excelled at international trade, innovation or sustainable development. It is the highest award for British businesses.
Garry Thompson, chief executive of Computech IT, said: “We feel that recognition of the efforts of businesses in the South West need to be recognised. Although we are a long way from London, together we provide a valuable input to the economy of this great country. We must shout loud enough to be heard and ensure those decision makers, who have the power to provide the support, are aware of the great businesses present in the South West and those hard working people who are behind them.”
Set up in 1991 the company has competed well in the States, particularly as it faces competition from much larger software development houses.
